Responsibilities
- The Agile Release Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the entire software release process within an agile framework, coordinating cross-functional teams, planning release schedules, managing risks, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software releases by collaborating closely with development, testing, and operations teams, while prioritizing communication and transparency throughout the release cycle.
- The Agile Release Engineer will organize and coordinate the execution of engineering activities to ensure that code transitions smoothly from development to production environments, while maintaining the integrity and reliability of the product.
- This role will involve collaboration with project technical teams and business/customer leaders on project schedule requirements and changes, as well as work prioritization.
- Release engineers collaborate with software engineers, SREs, testers, and developers to define the steps required to release software, fix build issues, and provide training.
- Experience managing mission software/hardware development and capability delivery to end-users/warfighters
- Experience in planning, conducting, and coordinating activities such as documentation development, technical exchange meetings with stakeholders, and capability deployments
- Experience working with internal and external customer stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including email communications and preparation/presentation of routine briefings
- Metrics data collection to be used for program execution status and improvements
- Experience performing risk mitigation activities, schedule planning, and change management
- Experience with Agile Methods, and Epic and Feature definition is a significant plus.
- Exposure to Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and agile management tools like JIRA
- Active Secret Security clearance required – Top Secret is preferred
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BS Engineering, Computer Science, or Math); or equivalent combination of education and experience
