JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of State and Local Government and Education (SLED) sales will take the lead in defining and executing an impactful and comprehensive government relations strategy addressing state and local government as well as key education accounts in Colorado and Wyoming. The Director will actively partner with senior management to develop and refine strategic plans to address relevant policy threats and opportunities as well as legislation and regulations impacting the company’s business.

Responsibilities
  • Work with senior management to develop ZIVARO policies and objectives involving local state, federal, and public affairs
  • Establish a positive, credible, and influential presence for ZIVARO within relevant state and local government entities
  • Work with ZIVARO’s senior leadership team to identify and monitor operational issues that may benefit from legislative/regulatory action
  • Oversee engagement in targeted states/communities, working with local business teams to develop and strengthen long term relations with external stakeholders – including community organizations
  • Work with local business teams to provide support, direction and targeted resources on external community
  • Directly and indirectly supervises a staff providing daily guidance to team members and assisting with general questions.
  • Acts as point of escalation for the AE team
  • Manages overall training effort for the assigned AE group and sets priorities to hold teams accountable to performance
  • Create and maintain budget within your team, and manage the team to the P&L throughout the year and maintain credible forecast
  • Create, develop, and maintain strategic relationships with top OEM, partner, and customer leaders
  • Create and maintain a strong working relationship with key peers, to include the Marketing, Enterprise and Federal Sales, Sales Operations, Solutions & Chief Technologist, and Engineering Services leaders
  • Develop and market sales strategy
  • Develop an organizational structure for your sales division
  • Facilitate final preparation of customer proposals to include response to customer RFP, pricing, contract terms and conditions and applicable agreements
  • Plans and implements business development programs that target both short- and long-range opportunities within the SLED Market Sector


Qualifications and Education
  • Required:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in related field and 10 years of experience, or 14 years of equivalent experience. Higher education can outweigh years of experience
  • Able to translate government issues into strategic business priorities, along with making recommendations to address the issues
  • Able to receive information from multiple sources, prepare analysis, and make recommendations for business unit leaders
  • Have practical experience on a range of policy/regulatory issues and experience understanding how to incorporate those risks into strategic planning
