THE OPPORTUNITY 
We seek a highly motivated, goal-oriented, resourceful, and customer-oriented Application Engineer to join our Customer Success Team. This role will have a strong focus on supporting the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland), requiring a deep understanding of this market and fluent oral and written German language skills. As part of our well-established Customer Engineering Team, you'll be able to develop your communication, business development, and technical skills within an exciting scale-up environment. RESPONSIBILITIES 

As an Application Engineer, you will work closely with customers on exciting 3D machine vision projects, primarily supporting clients within the DACH region. The ultimate goal of the CSU team and this role is to solve real-world project challenges and enable our clients to realize value through high-quality projects.

 

In this role, you will partner closely with the sales team to discuss our product's technological capabilities and technical fit for their project with the client. You will conduct feasibility studies for customers' projects, explain advanced technical concepts, and advise them on application alternatives' pros and cons. As such, the person we look for should have great problem-solving ability, technical acumen, solid communication skills, and a customer-oriented approach. 

 

Your responsibility will be to make sure your customers successfully integrate Zivid 3D cameras and solutions through: 

  • Serving as the primary technical point of contact for customers in the DACH region.
  • Providing technical training and support, with occasional customer visits for the most prominent customers. 
  • Guiding the customers during their journey from meeting Zivid technology for the first time to deploying the system in a factory. 
  • Advising customers on machine vision and robotics topics such as optimizing point cloud quality for defined applications, achieving the best cycle times, and improving hand-eye calibration performance. 
  • Directing customers on the best use of Zivid SDK and third-party software libraries. 

 

In the Customer Success Team, you will also work on proactive support efforts such as writing code samples, tutorials, reference articles, and other technical documentation. 

 

You will be a critical member of the Customer Success Team. You will represent the customer's voice and guide our R&D team in designing the best products that the market needs. The company's success will depend on your success. 

 

You will master our product and technology by working on internal application projects to gain the knowledge required for training customers and shadowing more experienced colleagues. For example, you will be involved in testing product and software features that our engineering teams are developing. 

 

We need a humble but fearless person who easily builds trust and reports with other technical people and makes customers feel valued and cared for on both sunny and rainy days. 

 

WE’RE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES WHO CHECK MANY OF THESE BOXES : 

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. Robotics, Machine Vision, Computer Science, Automation, Electrical Engineering or similar with 2 years of experience 
  • Experience in Machine Vision and Robotics with strong programming skills in C , C#, or Python  
  • Familiarity with Machine Vision software tools and libraries like OpenCV, PCL, Open3D, Halcon, and MATLAB
  • Fluent in German (oral and written), as this role will focus on the DACH region. Business-level English is also required
  • A quick learner with a “can do” attitude and strong problem-solving abilities 
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts and develop training materials 
  • Excellent communication skills, structured and solution-oriented 
  • A passion for customer interaction and thriving in a dynamic work environment 
  • Focus on quality and process improvements 
  • Engineer to engineer communication skills 
  • Self-driven, collaborative, and passionate about technology 
  • Fluent in business English (oral and written); additional languages like Chinese, Japanese, Korean,  or French are a plus
