Job Overview
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of environmental compliance, health programs, and workplace safety at our automotive manufacturing facility. This role will ensure a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment for all employees while supporting operational efficiency and sustainability. This role will also be required to secure permitting associated with related regulatory and compliance requirements.
Essential Job Duties include
Health and Safety Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Oversee compliance with OSHA, CAL / OSHA, and other applicable safety standards.
- Provide leadership in emergency response planning, including fire drills, evacuation plans, and first aid programs.
Environmental Compliance
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, air quality standards, hazardous waste management).Manage permits and reporting requirements related to air emissions, wastewater discharge, and chemical storage.Lead waste reduction, recycling, and energy efficiency initiatives to promote sustainability.Maintain and monitor hazardous materials inventories and ensure proper handling and disposal.Training and Employee Engagement
Develop and deliver EHS training for employees at all levels, including new hire orientation and ongoing programs.Foster a culture of safety by engaging employees in identifying risks and participating in safety improvement initiatives.Act as a resource and mentor for supervisors and team leaders on EHS practices.Regulatory Compliance and Reporting
Stay current on federal, state, and local EHS regulations and industry best practices.Prepare and submit required documentation, reports, and permits to regulatory agencies.Represent the company during regulatory inspections, audits, and interactions.EHS Program Development :
Develop and execute the facility’s EHS strategy and annual goals in alignment with company objectives.Monitor and analyze EHS performance metrics, driving continuous improvement.Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure the integration of EHS considerations in new projects and processes.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.7 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive or related industry.Strong knowledge of OSHA, CAL / OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.Proven ability to lead incident investigations and implement effective corrective actions.Excellent communication and leadership skills with a hands-on approach to problem-solving.Certification such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CIH (Certified IndustrialPay will be determined by overall skills and experience ($90,000-$110,000 / yr).
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
