About This Role
We are looking for a skilled Senior Contracts Officer to join our Contracts team.
- This role requires the ability to provide day-to-day advice, expertise, support and guidance to colleagues across the Actuation Systems sites in respect of contractual matters.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of various types of contracts and be able to take a solution-focused approach to business problems.
Key Responsibilities
- Data gathering, interpretation of varied contacting types, and report outs to senior management.
- Support on complex M&A matters, including contract reviews, completion of data collection templates, and preparation of related correspondence.
- Conduct contracts risk and opportunity analysis and prepare reports.
- Assist, lead and support the business in decision making, escalating subjects to senior management when required for resolution.
- Drive results and closure of actions by applying critical thinking, gathering detailed information and collaborating with relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to corporate Client processes, policies, and approval of contracts, leading the approvals required for the Legal, Contracts & Compliance function.
- Provide expert advice and support to the team in terms of interpretation of contractual requirements where disputes over contract terms arise.
- Work with internal and external legal counsel on specific projects as and when they arise across the sites to ensure the business risk position is minimized to the maximum extent possible.
- Provide clear and coherent advice to mitigate the business's corresponding contractual risks.
- Work with various business teams throughout the organization.
- Align on contract symmetry with the Supply Chain Contracts teams across the sites where possible.
About You
- You will have a strong understanding of various types of contracts.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, special attention to detail, highly organized, compliance focused, and developed problem-solving skills.
- IT skills - must be proficient in MS office suite primarily Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A professional approach, self-motivated to maintain high standards in your work.
- Minimum of 3 years' professional experience in a Supplier/Customer-facing contracts role.
- Contract experience in aerospace or other manufacturing industry.
- Contract experience with mergers and acquisitions activities.
- Knowledge of US Government contracting.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- High level of due diligence.
