What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controls Engineer MS position at zobility?
Job Description:
- Design and commission industrial control systems, including PLC software and HMI screens, for various industries and environments.
- Develop and install PLC/HMI code, conduct on-site debugging, and commission complete systems.
- Program peripheral devices, machine PLCs, and coordinate machine debugging, power-up, and validation with build and electrical teams.
- Ensure systems are designed and programmed according to customer and/or build specifications using standard techniques and approaches.
- Travel to customer sites for system installation and startup.
- 5 years of experience in Controls Engineering, PLC, and HMI programming
- 3 years of recent Siemens PLC (Step7 or TIA Portal) and HMI programming experience
- Familiarity with other PLC platforms, such as Allen Bradley, Omron, Mitsubishi, and Client
- Experience with hardware design using AutoCAD, Promise-E, or ePlan
- Ability to write code and program ladder logic from scratch
- Prior experience in automotive manufacturing integration and commissioning
- Experience with customer-defined standards and templates
- Familiarity with field bus networks, including DeviceNet, Ethernet I/P, Profibus, and ProfiNet
- AS or BS in Engineering, preferably Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar
