Job Title: Engineering Group Lead
Job Summary
The Engineering Group Lead is responsible for driving continuous improvement in existing capacity, implementing new capacity, and ensuring the uninterrupted functioning of production lines while achieving the highest level of quality, up-time, and waste elimination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Engineers in attaining continuous improvement goals and implementing capacity improvements
- Develop project schedules, manage budgets/forecasts, and track/close open issues
- Support/create budgetary cost estimates for new and retool studies
- Participate in simultaneous engineering activities and collaborate with suppliers on new model programs
- Obtain outside resources and information to address technical challenges
- Drive Engine/Transmission/lines and processes to meet PPAP'd requirements
- Prioritize and drive kaizen/projects with the Engineering Team to eliminate waste
- Present during plant/project reviews to all levels of leadership
- Train, coach, and support the deployment of SPW tools on complex problems
- Offer hands-on trouble-shooting support to Technical Engineers and Maintenance Support Team to improve OEE and reduce MTBF/MTTR
- Oversee updating process equipment documentation, including tool and operation sheets, machine drawings, PFMEA's, control plans, OPL's, EWO's, software back-up programs, etc.
- Lead spare parts definition and cataloging efforts
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 3 years' experience in Machining Processes
- 3 years in supervisory experience
- Excellent communication skills and knowledge of business metrics
- Demonstrated leadership competencies and ability to handle multiple tasks and work with various stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Valid driver's license and willingness to work any shift and overtime
