Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Food Safety Manager to lead our food safety program development and implementation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of regulatory requirements and be able to provide leadership and technical assistance to operations.
Responsibilities:
- Food Safety Program Development: Develop and implement food safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Leadership and Technical Assistance: Provide leadership and technical assistance to operations by managing food safety and compliance systems.
- Regulatory Awareness: Instill regulatory awareness and commitment within the organization.
- Performance Management: Manage the performance and development of the Food Safety Specialist in their assigned job duties.
- Training and Certification: Ensure required training is maintained, including HACCP Coordinator and PCQI certification.
- Regulatory Visits and Inspections: Facilitate regulatory visits and inspections.
- Certification Audits: Manage preparation and facilitation of GFSI, NSF Supplement cGMP, Kosher, Gluten Free, Social Compliance, Organic, RSPO, and other certification audits.
- Finished Product Certification: Prepare finished product certification submissions.
- Corrective and Preventive Action: Assist in maintaining the corrective and preventive action program.
- Sanitation and Housekeeping: Establish internal sanitation and housekeeping standards and monitor them via inspections, environmental swabbing, and allergen testing programs.
- New Item Entry: Oversee new item entry into ERP systems, specification databases, and customer websites.
- Recall Program: Manage the recall program, including mock recalls and actual recalls as necessary.
- Label and Box Printing: Manage all label and box printing systems to support production and ensure proper information is printed.
- Communication and Performance Boards: Update communication/performance boards and participate in Safety inspections, GEMBA walks, BRC reviews, and other reviews/audits as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in a related field or 5 years QA or Regulatory work experience in food or a related industry.
- QA Procedures: Working knowledge of QA procedures, statistical analysis, process capability study, process control, and analytical measurement.
- Communication Skills: Well-developed written and oral communication skills.
- People and Team Skills: Well-developed people and team skills, with demonstrated leadership ability.
- Motivation and Flexibility: Must be self-motivated, proactive, and flexible.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills; knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
