LPN Med/Surg

Overview
Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups to include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guidelines of nursing practice, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, Mercy Code of Conduct, Mercy Mission and Values and Mercy Service Standards.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients' health status, including vital signs and symptoms.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Provide education to patients and their families regarding health conditions and discharge instructions.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
• Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health records.
• Assist with outpatient procedures as needed, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Utilize knowledge of neonatal ventilators and internal medicine when caring for specialized populations.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care services.

Requirements

• 1 year Med Surg in an acute care hospital.
• BLS from AHA only, must be IV Certified on Nursys.
• Float Requirements: as needed, to a similar or lower acuity unit
• LPN license of MO state or Compact

Pay: $2,200.00 - $2,350.00 per week
