We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing venipuncture and specimen collection, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining high standards of laboratory procedures. Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures for blood collection in accordance with established protocols.
- Collect, label, and process specimens accurately while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Ensure proper handling and transportation of specimens to the laboratory.
- Maintain patient records and documentation related to specimen collection.
- Monitor and record vital signs as required prior to and during the procedure.
- Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures to patients and addressing any concerns.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment within the laboratory.
- Follow all laboratory procedures and safety protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in phlebotomy or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and laboratory procedures.
- Familiarity with specimen collection processing techniques.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds.
- Understanding of aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during specimen collection.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in phlebotomy or relevant training is a plus but not mandatory.
