Job Title: Ultrasound Tech
Location: Dunkirk, NY
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3 PM – 11 PM, 16 hours per week (two shifts), with on-call responsibilities and every 3rd weekend coverage
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Tech to join our healthcare team for a 13-week contract in Dunkirk, NY. The ideal candidate will perform diagnostic imaging procedures using ultrasound technology to assist in the assessment and diagnosis of medical conditions. This role demands a thorough understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, along with excellent patient care skills. The Ultrasonographer will collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality imaging services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, ensuring high-quality images for accurate assessment.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and addressing concerns.
- Maintain detailed patient records and document ultrasound findings.
- Collaborate with physicians to interpret imaging results and provide relevant insights for patient care.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and safety protocols to ensure a sterile environment during procedures.
- Stay informed about advancements in ultrasound technology and best practices in medical imaging.
- Provide empathetic patient care, ensuring comfort and support throughout the imaging process.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on ultrasound equipment to ensure proper functionality.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Certification or licensure as an Ultrasound Tech (required).
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to ultrasonography.
- Proficiency in medical imaging techniques, with experience in Ob/Gyn or diagnostic radiology (preferred).
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques and adherence to safety protocols during procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to provide excellent patient care, showcasing empathy and effective communication.
- Strong collaboration and multitasking skills in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Proficiency in verbal and written communication for patient and team interactions.
- Relevant experience in a clinical setting (preferred).
