Job Summary
The Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in the surgical team, providing support to anesthesiologists and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of anesthesia care. This position requires a strong understanding of anesthesia equipment, patient monitoring systems, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment. The technician will assist in preparing and maintaining anesthesia equipment, as well as managing inventory control and medical records.
Duties
- Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment for surgical procedures.
- Assist anesthesiologists in the administration of anesthesia during surgeries.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and report any changes to the medical team.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures.
- Manage inventory control for anesthesia supplies and equipment.
- Maintain accurate medical records related to anesthesia care.
- Collaborate with nursing staff in critical care settings, including PICU and Level II Trauma Center environments.
- Provide basic life support as needed during emergencies.
Skills
#2 years of experience as an Anesthesia Tech.
BLS required.
- Experience working in a hospital setting, preferably within critical care or surgical environments.
- Knowledge of basic life support techniques and protocols.
- Familiarity with Durable Medical Equipment (DME) used in anesthesia delivery.
- Strong organizational skills for effective inventory control management.
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with medical staff and patients effectively.
- Understanding of hospital medicine systems and procedures related to anesthesia.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $32.00 - $34.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekends as needed
