Responsibilities
- Perform blood sampling using appropriate aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and sample integrity.
- Conduct vital signs assessments as needed prior to phlebotomy procedures.
- Maintain proficiency in laboratory techniques and procedures relevant to blood collection and handling.
- Provide excellent patient service by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring a comfortable experience.
- Collaborate with clinical laboratory staff to ensure proper processing of samples.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines within the clinical laboratory environment.
- Maintain accurate records of blood draws, including patient information and sample tracking.
- Stay updated on best practices in phlebotomy and participate in ongoing training as required.
Requirements
- Proven experience in blood sampling and phlebotomy techniques.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and laboratory procedures.
- Familiarity with clinical laboratory operations and patient care standards.
- Understanding of human physiology related to blood collection.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient interaction.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification in phlebotomy or relevant healthcare field is preferred but not mandatory.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20.76 - $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
