Tower Manager for Database & Exadata
Location: Princeton, NJ – Day 1 onsite
Contract to Hire ( conversion after 3 months)
Relevant Experience 14 years and has held similar roles for at least 5 years.
Should understand industry standard process and procedures to run a Remote offshore delivery center. Should have experience in handling global customers communication has to be at its best both oral and written. 1.1 Big Data Support (Exadata, Netezza, ODA, ZFS, GG, DBA)
(iii) Apply security patch for all vulnerabilities;
(iv) Support during application and database issues and Major Incidents;
(vii) Provide data replication support;
(viii) Provide HA support and RAC support;
(ix) Coordinate with all applicable vendors for hardware related break fix;
(xii) Provide NFS Support for ZFS;
(xiii) Provide ZFS support for database migrations;
(xiv) Provide support to Global Advisors (SSGA) Exadata infrastructure;
(xv) Implement CMDB updates for new hardware, decommissioned hardware, entry mismatch, entry duplication with upper case and lowercase;
(xvi) Conduct OEM setup and maintenance;
(xvii) Conduct ASR validation and updates working with all applicable vendors;
(xviii) Provide automatic storage management (ASM) and cluster ready services (CRS) support during installation and upgrades;
(xix) Perform decertification of old Exadata frames after migration of databases to newer frames and/or hardware;
(xx) Perform database encryption using wallets or other
engineering-approved solutions;
(xxi) Deploy and maintain digital transport layer security (TLS) certificates on demilitarized zone (DMZ) environments for direct client connection databases; (xxii) Conduct fast recovery area (FRA) monitoring and housekeeping; and
(xxiii) Respond to ASR alerts on compute nodes and storage servers, switches, etc., by owning investigation and fixes, by collaborating with Oracle vendors and data center facilities teams, including raising necessary tickets.

- As part of the Big Data Support Services , Service Provider will provide 24x7 support of the following database environments: Exadata, Netezza, Oracle databases (DBA), Oracle database appliance (ODA), ZFS, Golden Gate ( Big Data ).
- As part of the Big Data Support Services , Service Provider will operate a tiered support model where the first level support for the infrastructure will be provided through the SysOps team (i.e., monitoring, basic troubleshooting) and the second level support will be provided by the Big Data Support system administrators as well as Big Data database administrators.
- Service Provider will also have separation of duties between engineering and operations (including between the system administrator and database administrator).
- Service Provider understands and operates the primary responsibilities of Big Data systems administration (SA) functions. And work closely with to make sure that business needs are being met and that any changes are fully tested and compatible with the business applications, schedules, and capacity needs.
- Monitoring all Exadata, ODA, ZFS, Netezza, DBA and Golden Gate systems;
(iii) Apply security patch for all vulnerabilities;

- Conduct OS tuning for appliances, including working with vendor for maximum performance;
