Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the well-being of patients undergoing medical and surgical treatments. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine health status and care needs.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments and medical history.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring for effectiveness and side effects.
- Manage acute pain effectively, utilizing appropriate interventions and therapies.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care in a Level II Trauma Center.
- Utilize medical imaging techniques as needed to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Provide education to patients and families regarding health conditions, treatment options, and post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes within the acute care setting.
Experience
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in acute care settings, including medical/surgical units or emergency medicine preferred.
- Familiarity with nursing home or long-term care environments is a plus.
- Knowledge of occupational health practices is beneficial but not required.
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make sound clinical judgments under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and team members.
