Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sonographer to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations in a fast-paced environment, including a Level I Trauma Center. The Sonographer will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
*VASCULAR ULTRASOUND TECH - Monday 9-730p, Thursday 11-730p, Friday 9-730p, Saturday 7a-730p
ARDMS and vascular experience required
Must be able to perform a variety of Diagnostic Ultrasound exams and procedures to produce images for the diagnosis and treatment of medical disorders. Work performed includes but is not limited to OR, ER, inpatient and outpatient populations. Monitors and ensures essential patient care and safety. The technologist must be flexible in meeting the staffing needs of the department, i.e. off sites, holiday and on-call rotation.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients, including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, and vascular studies.
- Ensure the proper use of sonography equipment and maintain high standards of image quality.
- Collaborate with physicians to discuss findings and assist in determining the appropriate course of action based on ultrasound results.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with medical protocols and regulations.
- Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control policies during procedures.
- Provide patient education regarding ultrasound procedures and address any concerns or questions they may have.
- Stay current with advancements in sonography technology and techniques through continuous education and training.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sonography, preferably within a Level I or Level II Trauma Center setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology relevant to ultrasound imaging.
- Familiarity with cardiac catheterization procedures and telemetry monitoring is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Certification from an accredited sonography program is required; ARDMS certification preferred.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in the use of ultrasound equipment and software applications related to imaging.
