Job Summary

The Clinical Behavioral Supervisor reports directly to the Director of Behavioral Services. As a Clinical Supervisor, you will primarily support internal processes including inhouse data collection, collaboration and assistance with operations, administration of orientation and crisis management trainings to as need or as requested basis. Secondarily you will engage in external processes such as supporting teachers, staff, and school administrators by working with students with behavior challenges in the classroom. In this role, you will conduct functional behavior assessments, develop behavioral intervention plans, conduct internal staff trainings, and offer strategies to teachers and behavior techs to meet students’ individual behavioral needs. 

 

You may also be asked to offer teacher and staff training and/or workshops on behavior management techniques for students with difficulty functioning in the classroom. Your professional insight will play an important role in preserving a positive learning environment for behaviorally challenged students, as well as their classmates and teachers. Your ultimate goal will be to help students learn to manage their behavior to optimize their own learning experience.

 

You may also be required to provide direct instruction to students with special behavioral needs. These students will vary in age from grades K-12, to be determined by the school district. Their behavior challenges may range from mild to moderate to severe. The level of intervention and support they require will be determined on a case-by-case basis, according to the parameters set forth in their individual education plans (IEP) or 504 plans. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and Behavior Technicians for effective implementation of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Collaborate closely with students, employing both direct and indirect methods to foster progress and development.
  • Demonstrate skills and provide instruction through impactful modeling and teaching techniques.
  • Coordinate with teachers, SAI educators, and school POCs to streamline behavioral support strategies.
  • Manage and organize Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and 504 plans.
  • Attend IEP meetings to contribute insights and recommendations.
  • Design and implement programs aligned with IEP goals to maximize student success.
  • Maintain accurate session notes and submit them through designated portals for documentation.
  • Prepare comprehensive quarterly progress reports to track and communicate student advancements effectively.
  • Organize, coordinate, and monitor RBT hours in accordance with BACB guidelines in collaboration with POC at the school district
  • Conduct RBT competency assessments
  • Other job duties as assigned by the Director of Behavioral Services

 

Requirements:

  • BLS certification 
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification 
  • Education: Master’s degree in behavioral science or related field from an accredited institution
  • Experience in working with children, adolescents, and/or adults with various special needs preferred, but not required
  • Experience working in a school-based environment preferred, but not required
  • Flexibility to travel within the greater Sacramento area as needed

 

Job Knowledge:

  • Assess situations, make proper judgments, and objectively analyze crisis situations
  • Understand behavioral situations and react accordingly in an ethical manner
  • Objectively analyze crisis situations
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations
  • Handle and deescalate continuous high magnitude behaviors (e.g. aggression and self-injurious behaviors) of clients
  • Communicate effectively and make recommendations to various agency staff and outside professionals, groups, or individuals
  • Perform general clerical duties including maintain accurate client records and preparing clear and concise reports
  • Use a computer and behavioral software to prepare documents and maintain client records
  • Online data collection systems
  • Work independently and make decisions within the framework of established guidelines
  • Follow guidance from senior level staff to enhance own professional development
  • Supervise clients during treatment sessions
  • Work with a diverse team of professionals in a respectful manner
