FOREIGN NATIONAL VICTIM CASE MANAGER
Combined for a full time Nonexempt Position
Reports to: Western Regional Director
Summary:
The Foreign National Victim Case Manager promotes the safety and well-being of youth and
adults immediately upon their removal from human trafficking and in the months that follow.
They provide important services for survivors including practical and relational support and
case management.
Qualifications:
• One year of case management or victim advocacy experience
• Direct experience with survivors of trafficking
• Ability to work non-traditional hours
• Ability to communicate and team effectively with staff, youth, caregivers, social workers,
attorneys, and probation officers, law enforcement, and community partners
• Reliable means of transportation and comfort navigating Los Angeles County and
surrounding counties
• Valid CA Driver’s License
• Bachelor’s Degree in social services preferred
• Mandarin, Thai, or Spanish speaking preferred
Duties:
• Provide Chinese, Thai, or Spanish translation between victim and law enforcement
• Provides crisis response for youth and adult victims of labor/sex trafficking or commercial sexual exploitation
• Provides short-term case management services using a relational, trauma-informed model, whereby the relationship of the case manager and client is foundational to assisting the client in obtaining safety and supports needed
• Provides transportation for survivors
• Engages with youth, caregivers, social workers, law enforcement, attorneys, and community partners for community and government supports
• Assesses and addresses basic needs, safety, and stability of clients
• Coordinates with community and government partners who can provide resources for victims related to transportation, housing, employment, physical and mental health, education, finances, legal assistance, etc.
• Maintains strong knowledge of current community resources available for survivors
• Completes all required documentation including, but not limited to, case notes regarding all service delivery and case management activities
• Attends staff meetings and group or individual supervision
• Reports incidents of suspected or known child abuse and neglect as a mandated reporter
ADVOCACY PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Summary:
ZOE’s Advocacy Program Coordinator coordinates resources for child and adult survivors of
human trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation (CSE), including foreign national
victims. The Coordinator will collaborate with law enforcement, legal agencies, social workers,
probation officers, caregivers, and community based organizations to ensure referral and
delivery of services, including ongoing case management as needed to promote the safety
and well-being of survivors. The Program Coordinator will assist onsite with law enforcement
operations as the victim service provider.
Qualifications:
• Two years case management experience
• One year experience billing or invoicing for service
• One year experience writing case notes
• Direct experience with survivors of labor and sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation (CSE)
• Ability to work non-traditional hours
• Ability to communicate and team effectively with government, law enforcement, and community based organization partners
• Knowledge of working with DCFS and Probation preferred
• Reliable means of transportation and comfort navigating Los Angeles County and surrounding counties
• Valid CA Driver’s License
• Bachelor’s degree in social services preferred
• Knowledge of working with the Los Angeles County Departments of Probation and Children and Family Services preferred
• Ability to speak and write in Mandarin, Spanish, or Thai preferred
Duties:
• Engages and teams with youth, caregivers, social worker, probation officers, law enforcement, and attorneys around assessment and the development and implementation of each client’s Safety and Service Plans
• Assesses and addresses basic needs, safety, and stability of survivors
• Works in collaboration with the DCFS, Probation, law enforcement, and other LA County and community partners
• Coordinates resources for youth related to housing, employment, physical and mental health, education, finances, legal assistance, etc.
