Position: 2025-2026 Enrichment Teacher, Special Focus: Gardening / STEM / Nutrition
Job description: Leading the Gardening/STEM/Nutrition class on Wednesday Spark Enrichment Days - course focus will adjust each semester within this domain
- Plan and deliver Gardening/STEM/Nutrition classes on Wednesday Spark Enrichment Days. Resources and supplies, and planning support, will be provided as needed.
- Class offerings will be inspired by the teacher’s own interests, as well as student or parent interest
- In collaboration with the director and other teachers, prepare a final display or performance for families for Winter and Spring Showcases, to share and celebrate the students’ projects and work over the course of the semester.
- Write a short 2-3 sentence blurb describing the focus of the week/month to share with parents in our newsletter.
- Document classes with a few photos each week for each age group (three age groups total-5/6 year olds, 6/7 year olds, 8/9 year olds) and upload to the shared drive folder.
- Create a positive and caring classroom environment that is engaging while also setting clear group expectations for the learning community. Support and training provided by director as needed.
- Attend monthly online meeting with Zoe Learning House team to plan and share updates (we have some staff on Tues/Thurs, some staff Wed, and some all three days, so we want to connect monthly to share ideas and support each other)
Hours: 9:30-3:30 Wednesday (program runs 10:00-3:00)
2025-2026 Wednesday Spark Enrichment programs run Sep 3-Dec 10 (14 Wednesdays), 2025, and Jan 14-Apr 29, 2026 (14 Wednesdays) 10:00-3:00
FALL 2025 Course Description for this position's class: GROW Together: Gardening, Renewal, Organic, and Wellness. This class inspires a love of nature through care for our butterfly garden and a local seed library, while also deepening our understanding of food through kid-friendly cooking and nutrition.
(Enrichment Teachers will be involved in future course descriptions)
Option: Work Morning Spark Wednesdays 8:30-10:00 ($21/hour), in addition to program day that ends 3:00p. No charge for staff children to attend. On Wednesday Morning Spark, academic instruction in the day's literacy and math Home Learning assignments are taught for our 3-day hybrid students 8:30-10:00 in small groups.

Candidate Requirements:
- As a Christian program, our staff should be able to articulate their personal testimony and faith in the Gospel
- Bachelor's Degree (preferably in education or health-related field)
- Two or more years of experience teaching children in a classroom / group setting
- Strong, positive classroom management skills
- Excited to join an innovative approach to education
- Flexible, creative, willing to teach a variety of gardening / STEM / nutrition topics to elementary-aged students for enrichment purposes (planting, seed-saving, design challenges, cooking, etc., as enrichment courses will vary each semester)
- Curriculum development and lesson planning
- A love for the nature, science, and nutrition
Required Trainings (costs covered by Zoe Learning House):
- Current CPR/First Aid Training (group training option)
- Professional Development Trainings During Staff Retreat beginning of August ($175 staff retreat stipend)
Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 8 per week
