Job Summary:
The Paraeducator is responsible for assisting the teacher in providing on-site, homebound instruction to the residents of Hannah’s House, a long-term therapeutic facility for female survivors of child sex trafficking. The Paraeducator assists the teacher in carrying out classroom activities and regularly engages with students in all aspects of classroom instruction to maximize inclusion, learning, and achievement. The Paraeducator works closely with the teacher under the direction and supervision of the Residential Director.
Essential Functions:
- Must be wholeheartedly aligned with organizational Statement of Faith and Core Values
- Adhere to all professional and organizational policies and requirements
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements
- Assist the teacher with academic instruction and the implementation of individualized and/or small group instruction
- Assist the teacher with lesson plans, activities, and classroom management
- Prepare academic materials for classroom instruction
- Work with students one-to-one or in small groups
- Discuss problems affecting students’ progress with the teacher and if so directed, with other professional staff
- Use patience and care to provide students of all abilities with an active learning environment
- Follow directions from the teacher, which may include reinforcing instruction presented by the teacher
- Perform clerical duties to include reproducing materials and maintaining files and records

- Possess basic knowledge of technology and keyboarding to support student learning
- Maintains regular job attendance and adherence to work hours
Required Education/Experience:
- High school diploma required. Associates or Bachelors Degree in education fields preferred
- Experience working with traumatized and at-risk youth preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license and auto insurance
- Drug Testing, Medical Release, and Federal & State Criminal Background checks required before start date
Job Type: Part-time
