Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scientist to join our Immunology Control Laboratory in Lincoln, NE. The successful candidate will play a critical role in leading and executing immunological assays, developing new methodologies, and ensuring the highest quality and compliance standards in our laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the transfer and validation of immunological assays.
- Oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Mentor and supervise Quality Analysts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and quality control.
- Analyze and interpret complex data, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Prepare and review technical reports, protocols, and regulatory submissions.
- Stay current with advancements in immunology and related fields, integrating new knowledge into laboratory practices.
Education and Experience:
- B.S. in Immunology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an immunology laboratory, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality control standards.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- M.S. or equivalent in Biological Sciences or a closely related field with 1-3 years of experience.
- Experience performing and troubleshooting ELISA and Immunochemical Assays.
- General understanding of protein chemistry and antibody-antigen interactions.
- Knowledge of USDA and EP requirements associated with Quality Control assay development and testing.
- Proven project and resource management experience.
Technical Skills and Competencies:
- Understanding of biological and chemical processes common to quality control testing.
- Ability to solve practical problems with a variety of concrete variables.
- Ability to make logical decisions concerning laboratory issues.
- Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in SoftMax and Excel.
Physical Requirements:
- Manual dexterity using hands and fingers.
- Ability to sit or stand at a laboratory bench or desk.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision work.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime.
