Role Overview:
Zomee is seeking an Owned & Earned Content Director to join the team. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this is an important role that manages the strategy and execution for the brand’s owned properties and earned media content.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the integrated earned and owned content strategy aligned to brand, marketing, and business goals
- Serve as the central content lead across PR, website blog, SEO, and organic social media and influencers content, ensuring a unified voice and content strategy
- Own editorial strategy, calendar, and execution for website content such as blog articles or resources, landing pages, and newsletter email copy in collaboration with eCommerce, Paid Media, and Go to Market teams
- Ensure content is optimized for search (SEO) and conversion, working closely with digital media performance and ecommerce teams
- Oversee organic social strategy and content for platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube
- Supervise and mentor social media coordinator and influencer coordinator
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and PR consultant to build and execute strategic earned media campaigns
- Oversee press releases, thought leadership content, and media outreach plans to secure coverage that amplifies brand and leadership visibility
- Lead executive visibility strategy across speaking opportunities, awards, and contributed content
- Monitor media landscape, manage media relationships, and track sentiment and coverage performance
- Partner with internal teams (brand & go to market, product, performance media, sales) and external agencies/freelancers to develop and distribute content
- Define content performance KPIs, develop reports and share narratives on learnings, and make ongoing optimizations
Education/Experience:
- 8–10 years of content experience, with a blended background in PR, content marketing, SEO, and/or editorial.
- Proven success developing and scaling multi-channel content strategies across owned and earned platforms
- Strong editorial instincts paired with a data-driven mindset to balance creativity with performance metrics
- Experience collaborating with analytics teams to define KPIs, build dashboards, and uncover actionable insights that drive content decisions
- Deep knowledge of SEO best practices, content workflows, and CMS platforms (e.g., Shopify, Klaviyo)
- Experience leading social media strategy and overseeing content calendars, creators, and community management
- Expertise in earned media strategy and managing PR agency partners and media relations
- Excellent writing and editing skills across formats: long-form, short-form, thought leadership, and social copy
- Experience managing teams and cross-functional content initiatives
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategy with hands-on execution
