Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Fitness Manager to lead our fitness team and drive the success of our fitness programs. As a Fitness Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring exceptional service to our members. Your ability to communicate effectively, market our services, and manage inventory will be crucial in creating a welcoming environment that encourages member engagement and retention.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facility Management
- Oversee the general cleanliness and maintenance of the gym, including locker rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.
- Ensure equipment is in working order and arrange for repairs as needed.
- Monitor and ensure that gym equipment is regularly wiped down, sanitized, and properly maintained.
- Membership Sales and Retention
- Actively sell gym memberships to prospective clients by conducting tours, explaining available membership options, and highlighting the benefits of the facility.
- Follow up with leads, manage membership inquiries, and close sales to achieve membership growth goals.
- Assist in developing and implementing promotional campaigns to attract new members and retain existing ones.
- Cleaning and Sanitation
- Supervise and participate in daily cleaning routines, including disinfecting high-touch surfaces, restrooms, and workout equipment.
- Ensure bathrooms are stocked with necessary supplies and cleaned regularly throughout the day.
- Enforce and manage the facility's cleaning protocols, ensuring the gym meets health and safety standards.
- Customer Service
- Greet members, answer questions, and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional and friendly manner.
- Promote and maintain positive member relations by ensuring a clean and comfortable gym environment.
- Safety and Compliance
- Ensure the facility is compliant with all health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation practices for bathrooms and equipment.
- Oversee the safety of gym members by maintaining a clean and hazard-free environment.
- Inventory Management
- Monitor supplies for cleaning, toiletries, and other gym essentials, and reorder as necessary.
- Other Duties
- Assist with membership inquiries, billing issues, and event planning for special gym activities.
- Participate in facility inspections and audits to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a managerial role within the fitness industry or related field.
- Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team development and employee engagement.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with staff, members, and potential clients.
- Ability to market fitness programs creatively to attract new members.
- Experience in managing inventory processes including buying supplies as needed.
- Familiarity with shift management practices to ensure optimal staffing levels.

- Certification in fitness training or related areas is preferred but not mandatory.
