Reporting to the Senior Director of Guest Operations, the Systems Administrator is responsible for oversite and support of end-user training for all POS systems and applications. This position will ensure these systems are used efficiently, effectively and securely to fulfill Zoo New England’s objectives. The position’s primary role will include administering and troubleshooting applications, training staff, creating standard operating procedures, and installing upgrades while minimizing application downtime Scheduled hours will be 9:00 to 5:00, Monday—Friday. Essential Job Function- Serves as the primary system administrator for the POS platform and integrated tools.
Develop, deliver and manage internal training programs and ongoing tools to train new hires and other new users as need.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with colleagues throughout the organization. - Continuously engage with all user groups, organizational leadership, and other key stakeholders to stay informed, nurture strong relationships, and increase knowledge to represent product vision, strategy, and both end user and organizational needs.
- Stay on top of organizational changes, activities, and events to ensure that none of the current online guest offerings will be impacted.
- Regularly review organizational needs, refine priorities, identify opportunities and risks, and adjust product roadmaps accordingly
- Assist with guest and member communication activities
- Maintain and enhance the effectiveness and accuracy of the membership database
- Ensure the operational aspects of the ticketing/reservations system are effectively incorporated into departmental operational practices.
Responsible for the creation of all tickets for POS/e-commerce in regards to admissions, donations, memberships, events, educational programs, rides & attractions, and group sales.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements
- Experience providing training, especially of technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and the ability to shift priorities based on operational needs.
- Ability to adjust and adapt to changing circumstances and shifting priorities.
- Must be detailoriented and be able to produce highly accurate work while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- A working knowledge in the field of not-for-profit, the ability to work with a diverse group of people
- Excellent understanding of technology, software applications, phone, computer, and payment systems
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field, five years working in information technology with two years of experience supporting enterprise applications - Knowledge of basic database and structured queries SQL, and database applications.
- Excellent ability to study current practices, think outside the box, and foster creative analysis to solve complex problems.
