What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trainer position at Zoom Room Dog Training?
Zoom Room, the area's premier indoor dog training facility, is seeking passionate dog lovers to join our team.
No prior dog training experience is required, but we favor applicants who have an exceptional background in customer service and retail sales. We need people who can multi-task!
We use positive reinforcement training only and offer group and private classes in obedience, agility, puppy training, as well as enrichment classes and workshops. Our motto is: "We don't train dogs. We train the people who love them." So when we look for new trainers, we're really focused on those with excellent people skills - great, articulate communicators. We also prefer applicants who deeply care about making a difference in the community as the majority of our clients have newly rescued dogs from shelters.
In addition to teaching dog training classes, our trainers are also expected to work some customer service shifts.
Responsibilities include:
- leading group and private dog training classes
- customer service
- supervising social events and playgroups
- maintaining a sparkling clean gym
- retail product sales
- and plenty of head scratches and belly rubs!
Qualifications include:
- experience in positive dog training is a plus, but not required
- reliable transportation
- exceptional people skills
- attention to detail
- Comfortable working
