What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Database Administrator/Engineer position at Zoom Video Communications?
Zoom is seeking a Sr. DBA / DBE with experience in managing MongoDB and MySQL primarily, and also has experience in DynamoDBs to join our world class team in managing critical and large-scale databases. You will be working with other DBAs and engineers to implement solutions for database related projects and tasks.
Responsibilities
- Deploying and managing MongoDB clusters, Mongo Atlas, replica sets, shards, etc.
- Monitoring, tuning, troubleshooting, and backing up MongoDB.
- MongoDB Database design, deployment, maintenance, upgrade, and patching management
- Managing and support MySQL environments as well as DynamoDBs.
- Providing supports to DevOps and Service Engineers to solve customers' issues
- Develop and enforce architectural governance, database standards and best practices
- Act in incident management to resolve active incidents
- Working on projects, tickets, deployments, and releases, etc.
- Participate in team weekly on-call rotation and monthly deployment rotation
- Be available off-hour occasionally to meet and work with offshore engineers

In addition to the base salary and / or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.
Note : Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
