Manager of Security DevOps

What you can expect

As a Senior Manager, you will lead our Security DevOps team. Overseeing some of Zoom's most securitycritical production infrastructure, including secrets management, workload identity, deployment pipelines, interservice authentication, and PKI. This role provides a unique opportunity to partner with diverse teams across Engineering, DevOps, and Security. With the objectivity to drive projects that enhance security, improve system availability, enable new features, and optimize costs. About the Team

Our Security DevOps team is dedicated to building secure, scalable, and efficient infrastructure to protect our customers and stakeholders. We prioritize collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation. As a leader, you will guide and support a team of technical individual contributors, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and can thrive.

Responsibilities

• Leading and Mentoring: Inspire and support a diverse team, providing growth opportunities and fostering an inclusive culture.
• Modernize Infrastructure: Guide projects that enhance our secrets management infrastructure and deliver automation solutions.
• Strengthen Security Posture: Drive initiatives that improve security resilience across Zoom.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Influence the direction of developer teams that own security infrastructure components, ensuring alignment with security best practices.
• Strategic Communication: Engage with diverse partner teams and stakeholders, understanding their needs and translating them into effective project plans. Software Development Excellence: Ensure mature development practices, emphasizing code quality, testing, and CI/CD processes.
• Optimize Team Processes: Define and refine work-planning methodologies to improve team productivity and efficiency.

What we’re looking for

• Well versed in SRE or DevOps roles.
• Experience in people management, fostering inclusive team environments. Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. Proficiency in at least one programming language in addition to scripting languages.
• Experience with cloud providers (e.g., AWS, OCI) and cloud infrastructure technologies (e.g., Terraform, Kubernetes).
• Expertise in security from a DevOps perspective (e.g., running Vault securely). Adaptability and a growth mindset to learn quickly in dynamic environments. Proactive, accountable, and able to think creatively to solve challenges.
• Ability to guide releases/deployments and participate in on-call shifts or incident response as needed.
• Experience with Continuous Deployment best practices, including CI/CD tools and version control systems (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Argo CD, JFrog Artifactory).

Qualifications

• Experience with logging and monitoring tools (e.g., ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems.
• Fluency in multiple languages is an advantageous, with Mandarin being a bonus for global collaboration.

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations
