What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer (Per Diem) position at ZoomCare?

- Provide patient services consistent with the Scope of Practice and Clinical Standards for the Diagnostic Sonographer.
- Apply independent, professional, ethical judgment, and critical thinking to safely perform diagnostic sonography procedures.
- Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA) and facility policies, and procedures.
- Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information to ensure that the sonography examination order is complete, contains relevant information, and meets the standard of “medical necessity.”
- Evaluate patient contraindications, insufficient patient preparation, and the patient’s inability or unwillingness to tolerate the examination and associated procedures. Identify and document any limitations to the sonography examination.
- Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infections disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Communicate with the patient in a manner appropriate to the patient’s ability to understand.
- Use proper patient positioning tools, devices, equipment adjustment, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort and safety, and musculoskeletal injury to the sonographer.
- Review examination images, synthesize examination results, and prepare the preliminary findings.
- Refer specific diagnostic, treatment or prognosis questions to the appropriate physicians or healthcare professionals.
- Acquire additional ultrasound imaging to facilitate optimum diagnostic results for the interpreting physician, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Abdomen (ARDMS ABD) and willingness to obtain OB/GYN registry (ARDMS OB/GYN) within 12 months of hire.
- State Sonographer licensure, OBMI, required for Oregon.
- CPR/BLS Certified, or ability to become certified within 60 days of hire.

- Hourly Pay Rate: $47-$63 dependent on experience
- Fit tested for an N-95 mask, must be clean shaven where the respirator seals to the face for fit testing or when wearing the respirator
- Must wear a mask as needed
