Job Summary:
As a Chemistry Lab Technologist, you will be responsible for assisting scientists in conducting experiments, testing, and maintaining laboratory instruments and equipment. Your role will involve performing various tasks to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the chemistry laboratory. This position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and adherence to laboratory safety protocols.

Responsibilities for Chemistry Lab Technologist
- Assist in setting up, running, and monitoring experiments in analytical and formulation laboratories, following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and specific instructions provided by the supervising scientist.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuring their proper functioning and adherence to safety standards. Perform routine maintenance, document calibration records, and coordinate servicing as required.
- Accurately record experimental data, observations, and results in a detailed and organized manner. Assist in the preparation of technical reports and documentation, summarizing findings and outcomes of experiments.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Handle hazardous materials with caution, following proper disposal procedures and waste management practices.
- Monitor and manage laboratory supplies and chemicals, including maintaining stock levels, organizing storage, and placing orders for necessary materials as required.
- Collaborate with R&D scientists, engineers, and cross-functional teams to support ongoing projects and research initiatives. Communicate effectively within the team to ensure smooth workflow and project coordination.
- Conduct preliminary analysis of experimental results using appropriate software tools and present findings in team meetings.
Qualifications for pilot plant technician
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Technology, or a related field; with relevant laboratory experience.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures and chemical handling regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate lab records, technical reports, and compliance documentation.
- Hands-on experience with analytical and formulation techniques, including spectroscopy (FTIR, UV-Vis), chromatography (HPLC, GC), rheology, viscosity measurement, and microscopy is a plus.
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, and data analysis tools is a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative, team-based environment, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced research environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to laboratory equipment, formulations, and analytical testing.
