Duties
- Perform grooming services such as bathing, brushing, trimming, and nail clipping for various breeds of dogs and cats.
- Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, providing recommendations for care and maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding grooming options, pet behavior, and any health concerns observed during grooming sessions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use.
- Handle animals safely using appropriate restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety during grooming.
- Provide excellent customer service by building rapport with clients and addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
- Stay updated on the latest grooming trends, techniques, and products to enhance service offerings.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in pet grooming or related fields such as animal care or veterinary assistance is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
- Knowledge of dog handling, animal restraint techniques, and basic dog training is a plus.
- Experience working with various breeds of dogs and cats is highly desirable.
- Ability to recognize signs of stress or discomfort in animals and respond appropriately.
