Product Marketing Manager
This role is ideal for an experienced marketing professional with 3–5 years of experience in product marketing, who is passionate about driving product adoption, positioning products effectively in the market, and enabling sales teams to succeed through compelling messaging and collateral. As a Product Marketing Manager, you will play a key role in connecting our products to our target audience by crafting strategies that communicate value, differentiation, and benefits. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, sales, and marketing, to ensure that our products stand out in a competitive market and meet customer needs. Roles at Zoot require a player coach mindset, meaning you’ll lead efforts and collaborate with other Zooters, but also roll up your sleeves to write content, generate creative assets and more.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Positioning and Messaging:
- Develop and refine product positioning, value propositions, and messaging that resonate with our target audience in the finance and SaaS sectors.
- Ensure all messaging aligns with the company’s brand voice and highlights key differentiators.
- Go-to-Market Strategy:
- Lead go-to-market (GTM) strategies for new product launches or feature updates, coordinating efforts across sales, marketing, and product teams.
- Plan and execute product launch campaigns, including timelines, deliverables, and performance tracking.
- Customer and Market Insights:
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, pain points, and buying behaviors.
- Analyze competitor products, trends, and positioning to inform marketing strategies and identify opportunities for differentiation.
- Work closely with customers and gather feedback to help shape future product development.
- Sales Enablement:
- Create sales enablement materials, including pitch decks, one-pagers, product sheets, case studies, and battle cards, to support the sales team in converting leads.
- Train sales teams on product positioning, messaging, and competitive differentiation.
- Content Creation and Campaign Support:
- Collaborate with the content and creative teams to develop product-focused content, such as blog posts, videos, webinars, and whitepapers.
- Partner with demand generation and campaigns teams to ensure alignment on messaging and positioning in marketing efforts.
- Analytics and Reporting:
- Track and analyze the performance of product marketing initiatives, including adoption rates, customer feedback, and campaign success.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations for improvement based on data and metrics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as the bridge between product, sales, and marketing, ensuring alignment on goals, strategy, and execution.
- Provide input to product management on customer needs and competitive landscape to guide product development and enhancements.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in product marketing, preferably in B2B SaaS or the finance/technology sectors.
- Strong understanding of product positioning, go-to-market strategies, and sales enablement.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with different audiences.
- Proven ability to conduct market research, analyze trends, and develop actionable insights.
- Experience working cross-functionally with product management, sales, and marketing teams.
- Proficiency with marketing tools and platforms (e.g., CRM, content management systems, analytics tools).
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
