Position Overview
A leading organization in the aviation industry is seeking a dynamic and experienced Procurement Manager to oversee purchasing activities, optimize inventory levels, and ensure the availability of materials crucial to operational success. Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leadership to develop and execute strategic purchasing plans aligned with organizational goals and budget targets
- Manage procurement budgets and deliver on cost savings initiatives
- Oversee the timely purchase of parts, materials, and tools while maintaining proper inventory flow
- Build and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure cost-effective, high-quality procurement
- Collaborate with warehouse and inventory management to balance operational needs with cost efficiency
- Resolve supplier issues and negotiate favorable contracts and pricing agreements
- Maintain constant communication with inventory control and planning to align procurement with project timelines
- Ensure all parts are sourced from approved vendors and meet regulatory standards
- Support quality assurance efforts to guarantee compliance with required specifications
- Develop and maintain customer-approved component exchange programs
- Use market insights and performance data to improve procurement strategy
- Identify risks in the supply chain and create mitigation plans
- Prepare and analyze reports on procurement KPIs and cost savings metrics
- Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, fostering a high-performance culture
- Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes
Requirements
Minimum:
- Associate’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field
- 5 years of procurement experience
- 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Proficiency in procurement systems and tools
- Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, financial acumen, and analytical capabilities
- Project management experience
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive results
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Procurement certifications (CPM, CPSM, etc.)
- Aviation industry experience a strong plus
Additional Information
- Must have normal or corrected hearing and vision
- Will occasionally be exposed to loud environments
- Some travel may be required
