The Master Scheduler plays a crucial role in ensuring timely resource coordination to meet customer requirements and achieve on-time delivery.
This position is responsible for maintaining schedules, analyzing capacity, and revising as needed. The scheduler must alert relevant staff of schedule changes or delays and recommend resource/schedule plan modifications.
Key responsibilities include managing and maintaining the ERP system from project launch to final closure, following approved procedures. The scheduler also prepares and maintains detailed layouts of buildings and equipment, utilizing floor layouts to plan upcoming project placement within the plant or shop floor.
Schedule risks associated with the build plan are identified, and mitigation strategies are developed. Collaboration with project managers involves developing and maintaining detailed resource-loaded schedules of projects. Scheduling software is utilized to optimize project flow through facilities.
Requirements include 5 years of experience in a technical manufacturing environment or project-based scheduling, preferably. Additionally, ~3 years of experience within PLM and ERP systems, with SAP required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, PowerPoint) and a Bachelor's degree in a related field are also necessary. Knowledge of CAD/CAM and excellent organization, planning, and analytical skills are essential.
Travel requirements involve reporting to both Michigan facilities on a regular cadence and occasional travel to other site locations during the workday. Some projects may require overnight stays and out-of-the-area travel, which will be compensated by the company.
The role requires prolonged sitting at a computer workstation, occasional movement to access file cabinets and office machinery, and wearing personal protective gear when working in the manufacturing plant. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, caustic chemicals, vibration, and moderate noise levels is possible.
