Mass Spectrometry Technician

ZRT Laboratory is a CLIA certified laboratory committed to giving health care providers a complete look at their patient’s health through accurate, convenient and innovative lab testing to allow for optimal clinical outcomes. ZRT has a history of innovation and excellence, with over 20 years of experience and results from over 10 million tests. ZRT is based in Beaverton, Oregon but we have health care providers in all 50 states and 100 countries, and research teams worldwide, use our testing, including the CDC, NIH, and many renowned universities.

We are looking for a Mass Spectrometry Technician to join our laboratory team. Incumbent will perform ZRT’s established production tests, which may involve the use of LC-MS/MS and/or GC-MS/MS. Depending on experience and qualifications, method development, optimization, and validation of current or new analytical tests will be required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Clinical and research sample management, preparation, and analysis
  • Working with liquid and dried human blood, urine and saliva samples
  • Working with mass spectrometers (LC-MS, GC-MS, ICP-MS)
  • Operate and maintain a wide range of instrumentation
  • Preparing reagents, managing inventory, and equipment maintenance
  • Rotation between laboratory areas as needed
  • Occasional method development and improvement tasks

Requirements include:

* Bachelor's degree in any life science with at least one year of experience in one or more of the methods above.

*Must have on the job experience with LC-MS, GC-MS or ICP-MS OR 3 years very recent experience in a clinical or research laboratory.

*Able to work independently and without direct supervision, and to perform multiple tasks simultaneously

*Must be well organized, have good attention to detail and possess good analytical skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
