Job Description :

The company has ambitious sustainability targets, including achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

We are seeking a skilled Automation and Controls Specialist with experience in automation systems, controls, and Allen-Bradley programming to support and optimize manufacturing processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and performance.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Maintenance of existing automated systems
  • Application of mature engineering knowledge in planning and conducting projects having a scope for independent accomplishment and coordination of responsible assignments
  • Application of state-of-the-art technology and techniques to resolve complex engineering problems
  • Performs special study programs involving technical data of a complex nature
  • Support manufacturing by working closely with the Operations, Engineering and Process Groups
  • Direct vendors and consultants
  • Involvement in equipment, operator, and maintenance training programs
  • Promote external contacts with other operations research groups as necessary
  • Must be willing to keep current with the ever-changing technology, balancing it with the needs of the operations to bring forth improvements in process control, process automation and process management systems and methods

Qualifications :

  • Education : Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience : 5-7 years of experience in automation and controls, ideally in metal manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills : Experience programming and maintaining Allen-Bradley PLC systems (ControlLogix, CompactLogix).
  • Experience working in an IT environmental organization.
  • Software skills in analysis, design, methodology, and architecture.
  • Leadership skills to direct, lead and develop other personnel to accomplish personal, plant and corporate objectives.
  • 5 years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Problem-Solving Skills : Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
  • Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication to interact with teams and document processes.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in metal manufacturing or similar industrial environments.
  • Certification in automation-related fields (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations in industrial environments.
  • Understanding of TCP / IP networks
  • Experience in HMIM / SCADA systems. Experience with WonderWare HMI systems a plus.
  • Experience with SQL programming and relational databases.
  • Experience in building client / server applications.
  • Experience in multi0threaded applications development.
