Role Summary:
The Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of our cooked meats production facility, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacturing processes. This role requires strategic planning, team leadership, and strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production Oversight: Manage end-to-end production processes for cooked meat products, ensuring efficiency and adherence to quality standards.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement production plans, schedules, and resource allocation to meet demand.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards for food safety and quality, ensuring compliance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, and GMP regulations.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, optimizing stock to meet production needs while minimizing waste.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage production staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure the facility complies with all health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including Quality Control, Maintenance.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in food science, business administration, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience is considered.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within the food manufacturing industry, with a focus on cooked meats.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control standards.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a diverse team.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in cooked meat.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
