Transaction Processing Specialist

Job Overview:

• Researches and accurately processes all customer maintenance transactions from various sources and reports.
• Performs the accurate and timely processing of report errors and edits.
• Recalculates customer accounts, prorates loans, capitalizes interest and reviews/processes conversion memos.
• Research accounts for any processing error or system errors that may have occurred.
• Processes school deferments and forbearances when other transactions are required..
• Performs activities associated with bankruptcy, death & Department of Defense documentation (military SCRA).
• Coordinates with appropriate personnel on issues around payment applications, disbursement adjustments and enrollment changes.
• Performs payment processing.
• Responsible for understanding and adhering to ZuntaFi policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Identifies and implements process improvements.
• Documents procedures and work instructions. Identifies any changes or updates.

Skills/Abilities

• Ability to organize work assignments and follow through to completion. Possesses self-direction and ambition.
• Ability to perform analytical and mathematical calculations.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Work with sensitive customer data which requires confidentiality and safeguarding of the data.
• Must have a desire to work in a team environment.
• Communicates clearly and succinctly, utilizing proper grammar and telephone etiquette.
• Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with customers, schools, superiors, and peers.
• Seek improvement opportunities through the use of personal development and time management training.

Education and/or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical/Other Requirements

• Must be able to use a telephone & keyboard and view a computer screen.
• Must be able to read & analyze information on paper and a computer screen.
