What are the responsibilities and job description for the Actuarial Analyst position at Zurich Insurance Company Ltd.?
Zurich North America is currently looking for an Actuarial Analyst to join our Middle Markets and E&S Reserving team. This role will be based out of one of our main offices (Schaumburg Headquarters, Chicago, New York City, or Toronto). We offer the flexibility to work both in the office and remotely (hybrid schedule). You will collaborate with your manager to set a schedule that supports you and the team.
Acts in an actuarial capacity while in pursuit of an actuarial qualification, performing duties which are of a mathematical and/ or financial nature, in order to provide highly accurate data and analyses for use by Actuaries in the evaluation of reserves, financial reporting or the pricing of business.
Key Accountabilities:
- Calculates actuarial best estimate reserves (loss and premium), planning, and profitability analyses for defined segments of insurance business.
- Performs research, loss emergence studies, and other statistical analyses.
- Ensures that the claims provisioning processes for assigned tasks are appropriately governed in accordance with Group, Regional, and Local regulatory policies.
- Performs research, experience studies and other statistical analysis.
- Performs experience investigations and data validation. Pass Applicable Actuarial Exams, as required
Basic Qualifications:

Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including Associate Degree and 2 or more years technical/insurance experience
OR -
Bachelors Degree with 3.0 cumulative GPA and No prior experience required in the Actuarial area
AND - Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams

We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The compensation indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $58,700.00 - $96,200.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
