Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Loss Sensitive Casualty Underwriter to join our Middle Market Complex Casualty Underwriting team in NYC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for generating, underwriting, and analyzing domestic Complex and Loss Sensitive Casualty business. You will work with brokers and agents to develop and maintain relationships and identify new business opportunities. This role requires strong negotiation skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office, and the ability to effectively assess risk.
Responsibilities:
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need a High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Brokerage or Market Facing area. Alternatively, you may have a High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business are also essential.
Responsibilities:
- Generating, underwriting, and analyzing domestic Complex and Loss Sensitive Casualty business
- Working with brokers and agents to develop and maintain relationships and identify new business opportunities
- Developing and maintaining agency and broker relationships
- Complying with underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manual rules
