Occupational Accident Transportation Lead

Zurich North America is currently hiring a Occupational Accident Transportation Lead and this person can work in either our Schaumburg North America HQ or at our Downtown Chicago office OR this could be a remote role for the right candidate.Responsibilities :

• Manage the selection / denial of new and / or renewal business for the occupational accident profit center with specific focus on transportation customers.
• Demonstrate specialized knowledge and expertise in logistics and transportation business segment.
• Travel to broker marketing event meetings, ability to travel 25%.
• Underwrite and analyze new and renewal business within delegated authority levels.
• Manage a staff of Underwriters, coaching and mentoring staff, providing guidance on books of business.
• Recommend and implement action plans after reviewing agency books of business and profit / growth results and trends.
• Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents and brokers) in support of business retention and acquisition and works with customers and distributors (agents & brokers) to determine their insurance-related needs and provides solutions.
• Support the organization's sales culture by being a Help Point for agents, brokers, and customers.
• Assure development and implementation of policy, procedures and standards to produce profitable results.Basic Qualifications :
• Bachelor's Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Underwriting, Market Facing, Broker, Carrier, or Risk Management area within the Commercial Insurance industry OR
• Bachelor's degree with 20 or more years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support area within the Commercial Insurance industry AND
• Experience in Experience in a specialized line of business or segment.
• 2 or more years of people management experience.Preferred Qualifications :
• Strong relationships with brokers in the transportation insurance marketplace.
• Advanced knowledge and practice of work injury lines of business (occupational accident, workers compensation).
• Strategic planning and execution experience.
• Strong team building and organization skills.
• Strong verbal and written and communication skills.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Experience managing complex transportation / logistics portfolios.
• Technical knowledge of insurance industry operations and processes.
• Knowledge in risk selection and strategical components of anticipating the market environment.

Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are encouraged to apply, and will be considered based on experience, skill, and education. The salary provided is a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled.
