What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underwriting Account Associate I - Group Captives position at Zurich Insurance?

Zurich Group Captives is currently hiring an Underwriting Account Associate I to join the Underwriting Support team! This Underwriting Account Associate will support our experienced Captives Underwriters in a team-based environment. We are open to hiring talent at the Zurich Headquarters located in Schaumburg, Illinois.

About the Group Captives Team:
Zurich is the insurer for three of the industry's top 10 captives, according to Business Insurance. We operate with a holistic, integrated team approach that goes beyond simply offering risk transfer insurance solutions. The Zurich team includes specialists in underwriting, claims, marketing, risk engineering, actuarial, finance, policy issuance and regulatory compliance.

We deliver the intellectual capital and infrastructure required to create solutions that meet the distinctive and complex needs of a group captive. Group Captives Underwriters have multi-line expertise in a broad range of industry segments, to include construction, manufacturing, and transportation.

The Group Captives team is poised to continue a solid track record of success! They are a dynamic and unique part of the Zurich organization, and this role would allow the right candidate to take their insurance experience to new levels.

Our Group Captives Underwriting Account Associates:
  • Utilize insurance experience to help support the performance of Zurich Group Captives
  • Seek to continually improve effectiveness and drive high-quality solutions
  • Are highly organized, professional, and adaptable
  • Provide superior levels of service and a high level of communication to ensure the customer's needs are met and production goals are achieved
  • Work independently in a fast-paced team atmosphere

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree and no prior experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Financial Services, Risk Management, or Insurance area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Administrative, Customer Service, Data Entry or Financial Services or Risk Management area

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Insurance industry knowledge
  • Underwriting/underwriting operations, claims, risk management or premium audit experience
  • Knowledge of data collection and analysis
  • Microsoft Office experience (Intermediate Excel skills)
  • Excellent customer service orientation and communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of processing, rating, endorsements, and policy issuance
  • Detail oriented
  • Organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills
