What are the responsibilities and job description for the Underwriting Services Specialist II position at Zurich Insurance?
Zurich North America is currently hiring an Underwriting Services Specialist II to join the Operations Services Department. The Underwriting Services Specialist I provide general support to underwriting and operations units in the processing of transactions relating to non-renewal notices. We are open to hiring talent at our corporate headquarters located in Schaumburg, IL.
This is a hybrid model working onsite (in the office as needed) and remote.
In this position you will be responsible for:
- Enters or retrieves policy information and inputs non-routine entries and transactions.
- Accesses various systems to input data and compiles information and reports for internal customers.
- Provides technical rating and policy issuance for routine to moderately complex transactions in support of underwriting.
- Utilizes automated systems to support processing, rating and policy issuance of all transactions that are routine or moderately complex for multiple lines of business.
- Interacts with Zurich staff to obtain and provide necessary information in order to resolve issues and provide timely, accurate service to attract and retain profitable business.
- Works on assigned lines of business and maintains an in-depth understanding of 2 or more lines of business.
- Assists underwriting teams by computing rates and premiums for policies.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1 or more years of experience in Customer Service or Transactional Operations area
OR
- Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and No prior experience required in the Clerical Support or Data Entry area
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to produce a quality work product with detail and accuracy
- Experience processing, rating, and policy issuance systems
