Zurich is currently looking for a Financial Accounting Analyst to work out of our North American headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois.
The Financial Reporting Analyst will be part of a dynamic, innovative, and fast-paced Financial Reporting team. The ZNA Financial Reporting team is responsible for the accurate, complete and timely preparation of a variety of financial reporting deliverables, including monthly management financial results to Business Unit leads and the CFO, quarterly IFRS reporting to Group for inclusion in the IFRS consolidated results, and quarterly/annual local statutory reporting to insurance regulatory bodies related to our property and casualty (P&C) business.

Responsibilities of the Financial Accounting Analyst include:
- Oversee and support in the completion of monthly/quarterly close tasks, including preparing and recording journal entries and preparing reconciliations and other supporting schedules.
- Support in the preparation of monthly management financial statements and analysis of results.
- Support in the preparation of quarterly IFRS financial statement submissions to Group and quarterly/annual statutory filings.
- Develop a working knowledge of relevant IFRS (especially IFRS 17), US GAAP, and Statutory Accounting Principles.
- Drive process change and improvement, bringing automation into processes, as applicable.
- Support in the implementation and maintenance of financial controls for high quality financial reporting deliverables.
- Business Travel, as required
- Extended Hours during Peak Periods, as required
- Pass Applicable Exam/Licensing, as required
- Regular Predictable Attendance
- Bachelors Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area OR
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Accounting or Finance area OR
- Zurich Certified Insurance Professional, including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Accounting and Finance area AND
- General ledger transactional experience
- Project management experience
- Experience with Business Objectives or other query tools
- Insurance industry experience
- Strong Microsoft Office experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
