Market Facing Underwriter - Group Captives

Zurich Insurance is currently looking to hire a Market Facing Underwriter for our Group Captives Team in our Schaumburg office or US Remote location. As one of the leaders in this space, we work together with the largest captives consultants in the U.S. to deliver a wide range of services to member-owned, agency and other (fronted) captives.

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Performing all risk assessment and pricing on new business
• Perform renewal activities for captives assigned
• Attend board meetings
• Help with the daily administrative requests that come in on policy maintenance
• Manage broker and captive consultant interactions
• Travel at least 25% or more internationally
  
  

Basic Qualifications:

Market Facing Underwriter – Group Captives:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 1 or more years of experience in the Insurance or Market Facing area. OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area AND
• Knowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environment
• Knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations and guidelines

• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong negotiation skills
• Underwriting/Insurance exposure to Casualty or Liability Lines
  
  

At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply, as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The salary indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $78,000.00 - $108,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%.
