We are seeking a highly skilled Materials Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, scheduling, and control of production, materials, and product inventory.
The Materials Manager will develop and manage opportunities for continuous improvement in cost, quality, and services. This includes developing and implementing material planning strategies to support production schedules and demand forecasts.
The ideal candidate will have strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. Experience with ERP systems and knowledge of lean manufacturing, Just-in-Time (JIT), and Six Sigma principles are also essential.
Salary
The salary range for this position is $99,328-$136,500. Most candidates will start in the lower half of the range.
Job Description
- Develop and implement material planning strategies to support production schedules and demand forecasts.
- Oversee inventory control processes, ensuring accurate stock levels, cycle counts, and minimal excess or obsolete inventory.
- Develop goals and standards of performance for the team, ensure development of team for capable successions, communicate, and enforce safety and quality expectations, and policies and procedures.
- Monitor and improve material flow efficiency throughout the manufacturing process.
- Manage production control activities, including scheduling and coordination with production teams.
- Implement and maintain ERP system for inventory and production planning.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements related to material handling and storage.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement process improvements and lean manufacturing principles.
- Develop KPIs and reporting to track performance metrics related to inventory and production efficiency.
