Job Details Job Location W Hartford - West Hartford, CT Position Type Part Time Education Level High School Salary Range $28.00 - $28.00 Hourly Travel Percentage None Job Category Information Technology Description We are looking for a Evening / Weekend Help Desk Technician responsible for handling technical assistance and support requests that come in through the help desk, related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
Diagnosing technical issues : Use knowledge of hardware and software to identify and resolve problems. This may involve running tests, troubleshooting equipment, and updating software.
Communicating with customers: Must be able to listen to customer issues and communicate solutions in a clear and easy-to-understand way. They should also have excellent interpersonal skills.
Managing help desk tickets: Respond to and resolve tickets in a timely and professional manner.
Documenting customer interactions: May involve filling out forms or writing a summary of what was discussed during a call.
Escalating issues: For more difficult cases, may need to escalate issues to higher levels of support.
Following up with customers : Ensure that issues are resolved and follow up with customers accordingly.
Training computer users : May need to provide support to client staff on new technology implementations, assist with account creation, and train users on how to access and use IT systems.
Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. However, candidates with a college degree in computer science, network administration, or computer programming is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues.
