Description
Work independently to perform complex and analytical programming using appropriate programming languages and tools. Assumes responsibility for software integration and external application interface development involving third party platforms. Support internal clients with continual analysis and development of systems with focus on adding value to or streamlining processes
Requirements
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology related field plus two years of experience, or,
three to five years of related experience. Optimum candidate has experience with Symitar, Symitar PowerOn, Synergy, and related core and credit union systems and functions.
Required Skills:
Two years experience programming and/or systems analysis experience
Programming languages, including Javascript, C#, SQL, XML, HTML/CSS, HTML5, and others as necessary
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop applications for specified client departments. Act as the key technical liaison between computer systems users, vendors and IT. Provide project management and assistance for computerized departmental systems and related projects
  • Act as primary contact for all application systems problems. Assess, debug, test and document problems or recommend solutions that involve new applications. Follow up on problem resolution and inform clients of status. Test and debug all systems before moving to the live directory
  • Ensure that all system updates are communicated to users and departmental procedures and/or policies are updated
  • May serve as project coordinator for in-house development or implementation of vendor-based automated systems
  • Responsible for researching assigned projects' requirements and anticipated results; project planning and implementation, including scope of work, time estimation and resource assignment; developing, coding and testing applications, interfaces and database additions and modifying complex computer programs; coordinating the implementation and delivery with affected vendors and departments; and providing on-going solution support to users and vendors
  • Writes computer code using appropriate language for the application/project/solution, working within approved specifications
  • Tests software, hardware and programs to evaluate ease of use and whether the product will aid the user in performing work. Researches alternate approaches to existing software and hardware with standardized approaches cannot be applied
  • Knowledge of the Credit Union's products and services
  • Maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to applications
  • Implement coding standards and quality assurance policies and procedures
  • Provide help in the software development life cycle by developing plans, coding to standards and testing
  • Supports IT Department projects
