The Center for Women and Families - Contract Therapist (Emergency Shelter)Together, disrupting the cycle of intimate partner and sexual violence is our mission. The Contract Therapist (Emergency Shelter) helps to move toward our vision of thriving survivors in safe communities!
The Center for Women and Families provides free services to people of all identities who have experienced intimate partner violence and sexual assault. We help our clients and their dependent children become survivors through trauma-informed advocacy. Our goal is to mitigate the impact of their trauma by reducing their risk factors and building their resiliency. We serve anyone in Jefferson, Bullitt, Spencer, Shelby, Oldham, Henry, and Trimble counties in Kentucky, and Floyd and Clark counties in Indiana.
The Contract Therapist (Emergency Shelter) plays an essential role in providing counseling services to our clients. Located in Emergency Shelter, you work directly with children, families, and adults who are dealing with trauma that has impacted their lives. The Family Therapist is responsible for using brief theraputic interventions to facilitate individual, group and family counseling with survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. When you deliver counseling services, you provide the best possible outcome for clients.
This contract role is scheduled for 2nd shift, 12-20 hours/week with a weekend day.Free Lunch and Dinner are provided while working! (Onsite Cafeteria)Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions, including initial interviews, assessments, and crisis intervention for children and families. Develop and implement treatment plans and follow-up on progress.
  • Maintain case records, statistics, and documentation per agency and funder guidelines.
  • Provide support, education, consultation, and training to families, staff, and the community as needed.
  • Participate in case conferences, meetings, and training as needed and to maintain certification/licensure/supervision expectations.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with community agencies and schools; cultivate natural supports for every family.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field.
  • Licensed to practice a mental health discipline under Kentucky laws (CSW, LPCA, or MFTA; LCSW, LPCC, or LMFT preferred.)
  • Minimum of two years of experience in providing treatment to youth and families. Experience with children and families, crisis intervention, and trauma-informed care is preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record that meets CWF automobile insurance requirements.
  • Fluency in languages other than English are a plus.
  • Developed sense of empathy.
  • Self-starter
  • Organizational skills.
