This part-time position will be placed on the College hourly rates scale, grade 7 with minimum starting salary of $18.96 per hour.

Department: Strategic Marketing and Brand Management

Pay Grade: 7 (minimum hourly rate $18.96)

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for developing visually compelling and engaging digital content for various platforms, including social media, display advertising, web, multimedia, and video within pre-determined guidelines. This position requires a broad skill set, including experience in digital content creation, simple animation, photography, and a strong understanding of branding and marketing strategies. This position collaborates with the Art Director and the Marketing Team to deliver innovative designs that effectively communicate the College’s brand and marketing messages. It reports to the Art Director.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Content planning; actively participate in team brainstorming sessions.
  • Use Adobe Creative Suite software as well as web-based applications like Canva, to create concepts, solve problems and provide strong visual solutions for the College’s branding and marketing initiatives and various design-related projects.
  • Assist with organization and management of the college’s Digital Asset Management (DAM) system.
  • Prepare final files to meet specified requirements for electronic transmission to vendors.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Marketing and Creative Services Team to develop campaigns for recruitment, retention and community awareness.
  • Stay up to date with design trends, particularly in web display advertising and social media.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:

  • Associate Degree and two years related experience.
  • Experience in the fundamentals of design and typography.
  • Adept at using Adobe Creative Suite software, specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Able to stay up to date on industry trends and research.
  • Ability to problem solve and creatively strategize.
  • Ability to complete tasks quickly and effectively in a fast-paced and changing field.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to exhibit professional behavior at all times
  • Ability to work independently or in a group.

Preferred

  • Experience with Canva and Media Valet.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The work is normally sedentary which requires the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required:

  • Hear/talk/communicate – Must be able to exchange information and communicate
  • Visual acuity – Ability to perceive or detect surroundings
  • Mental acuity – Able to focus, concentrate, understand, and convey subject matter
  • Repetitive motion (i.e., keyboarding)
  • Stand/sit/walk/able to move or traverse from one area to another

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

College campus, direct contact with diverse students, staff, faculty and the general public in classrooms, common areas, offices, and campus environments. Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office, meeting, and training rooms. Use of safe workplace practices with office equipment; computers for data entry and word processing with some highly technical applications and new technology systems; avoidance of trips and falls; observance of fire and building safety regulations; observance of college vehicle policies and laws when/if driving a college vehicle and observance of all college policies. Work hours may vary as assigned by supervisor (not to exceed 29 hours per week).
