tion: _This position provides support for FLC’s ministry with our congregational community. Two-thirds of this role will support children, youth, and family ministry. The other third will support wider congregational life through digital communication and volunteer and small group coordination. This role requires attention to detail, effective communication, planning and organizing skills, an ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities, and a desire to work as part of a team. _Core Ministry Area:_ With the direction of the Senior Pastor, in concert with the Director for Children, Youth and Family Ministry, the Coordinator for Congregational Life provides concrete, detail-oriented support of ministry. Through action with attention to detail and intentional communication, the Coordinator for Congregational Life multiplies our congregational effort toward the mission of First Lutheran Church: _Fostering faith. Loving all._ _Source of Supervision: _Senior Pastor _Direction of other staff:_ None at this time _Required skills and competencies:_ * An understanding of and willingness to support our congregational life of Christian faith through a Lutheran lens * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Ability to plan and execute projects systematically, make things happen, and create results * Self-motivated and willing to serve * Commitment to working collegially with staff and volunteers in a large church setting * Understanding of and commitment to maintaining confidentiality * High school diploma or GED (required) with experience in administration and/or further education (preferred) _Work performed by this person:_ In cooperation with the Senior Pastor, the Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministry, and other staff and volunteers, the Coordinator for Congregational Life is responsible for: · Planning events and providing hospitality · Coordinating volunteers, including using our member database to track and call upon people’s interests and skills · Implementing digital communication strategy via social media, e-newsletter, website, church app, and more · Photographing congregational life happenings and coordinating photo-sharing from participants · Keeping inventory, organizing, ordering, and preparing ministry supplies · Managing registration for Children, Youth and Family Ministry opportunities and other groups and activities · Setting up rooms and curriculum kits for Journey to Discipleship (Sunday/Wednesday school), Confirmation, etc · Supporting volunteer training opportunities through scheduling, communication, set-up, clean up, and more · Supporting small groups through coordination · Supporting fundraising efforts for the youth ministry summer trip, camperships, and other special opportunities · Creating engaging bulletin boards, other signage, and physical displays · Communicating with the congregation, members, and sub-groups via email, social media, phone, app, mailings, etc. · Occasionally providing reception for guests and answering of telephone calls in the main office · Attending staff meeting (Mondays 9:30-11am) · Performing other duties and responsibilities as determined by the Senior Pastor _Evaluation and Compensation_: This position works directly under the Senior Pastor and receives an annual performance evaluation.
